Short‑Term Senior Health Consultant (Local)

About the role

The World Bank is seeking a senior‑level health specialist on a short‑term basis to support nutrition governance and emergency‑preparedness initiatives in Timor‑Leste. The consultant will work closely with national and municipal stakeholders to strengthen sub‑national planning, monitoring and coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver training materials and capacity‑building workshops for the Nutrition and Food Security Subnational Governance Initiative.
• Provide hands‑on support for quarterly monitoring of municipality‑level nutrition performance indicators, including data collection, quality assurance and presentation.
• Assist municipal authorities with data analysis, KPI review and facilitation of coordination meetings.
• Contribute technical inputs to the Strengthening Emergency and Pandemic Preparedness in Timor‑Leste (STEPP‑TL) project.
• Coordinate with national and local partners to ensure evidence‑based, sustainable nutrition investments.

Required profile

• Senior health professional with extensive experience in nutrition, public health or health systems in low‑income settings.
• Proven track record in capacity‑building, sub‑national governance and stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity with health indicator data collection, monitoring and evaluation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with government and development partners.
