Radiologist – AI Training Subject Matter Expert (Remote Contractor)

About the role

This remote, hourly contractor position is with SME Careers, an AI data‑services company. As a Radiology Subject Matter Expert you will review AI‑generated imaging responses, create gold‑standard content, and provide detailed feedback to improve the clinical accuracy and safety of AI models.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training content by writing detailed prompts and reference answers covering imaging appropriateness, protocols, differential diagnosis, and reporting standards.
• Evaluate and rank AI‑generated radiology responses, assessing accuracy, clarity, safety, and adherence to clinical prompts.
• Test AI outputs for unsafe recommendations, bias, and reliability across diverse patient populations.
• Fact‑check imaging and clinical information, write high‑quality explanations, and compare multiple AI responses for correctness and reasoning quality.

Required profile

• MD/DO (or equivalent) with completed Diagnostic Radiology residency and board eligibility/certification.
• Minimum 5 years of professional radiology experience in academic, community, teleradiology, or subspecialty practice.
• Strong clinical reasoning and ability to translate presentations into imaging strategies.
• Deep knowledge of imaging modalities, protocol trade‑offs, and safety considerations (contrast, radiation, pregnancy, renal function).
• Exceptional attention to detail for fact‑checking and identifying unsafe assumptions.
• Proficient English (minimum C1 level).
