Scholarships Coordinator - Australia Awards Timor-Leste

About the role

Palladium International manages Australia Awards Timor-Leste (AATL), a seven-year program (1 July 2022 to 30 September 2029) with an AUD 12 million budget, offering scholarships to Timorese students, researchers and professionals in Australia. The Scholarships Coordinator is a member of the AATL senior management team and oversees the delivery of the scholarship program, including selection and pre-award processes, on-award and post-award support, and the short course programme, especially English language training for underrepresented groups.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the scholarship and short course programmes, including the AAS workplan and budget, with support from the Team Leader
• Advise Australian Embassy officials on quality assurance and risk management, and oversee pre-award and on-award activities such as candidate selection, placement and pre-departure briefings
• Support post-award alumni activities with the Alumni Secretariat Coordinator and the Timor-Leste Australia Alumni Association
• Monitor on-award progress of awardees, including at-risk students, and lead an annual review of selection activities
• Work with the Finance and Operations team on budget tracking and with suppliers, and implement the GEDSI strategy
• Ensure compliance with policies including the Australia Awards Policy Handbook, procurement, privacy and information management
• Support monitoring, evaluation and learning, including data storage, reports and surveys
• Supervise the Senior Program Officer and two interns, and represent AATL at stakeholder events

Required profile

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area of study or equivalent
• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and efficiently
• Experience as a senior coordinator or manager in a similar programme
