Skills Adviser – Hospitality

About the role

The Skills Adviser – Hospitality will provide technical advice and capability‑building support to strengthen hospitality training in Timor‑Leste. Working with the Skills Strengthening Manager, the adviser will help align courses with national qualifications and labour market needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assess institutional capacity of partner training providers and develop strengthening plans.
• Review and improve hospitality qualifications, curricula and learning resources to match industry practice.
• Design, pilot and deliver accredited and non‑accredited hospitality programmes, including workplace‑based learning.
• Coach and mentor hospitality trainers, assessors and training centre managers.
• Establish partnerships with hotels, resorts and tourism operators to create apprenticeship and internship opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum seven years’ experience in the hospitality sector and vocational training delivery.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with government, industry and training institutions in multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Willingness to travel throughout Timor‑Leste, including overnight stays.
• Commitment to gender equality, disability inclusion, child protection and other safeguarding policies.

• Mentoring and coaching of trainers and assessors.
• Development of training materials aligned with national qualification frameworks.
