Geotechnical Engineer/Geologist – Design Reviewer

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Geotechnical Engineer/Geologist to act as Design Reviewer for a major highway infrastructure project in Timor‑Leste. The role involves overseeing and reviewing all geotechnical and geological aspects of the design prepared by the Design‑Build Contractor.

Key responsibilities

• Review geotechnical investigations, geological assessments, foundation solutions, slope stabilization measures and ground improvement designs submitted by the contractor.
• Supervise soil investigations during the design stage and evaluate proposed soil treatment, soil selection, slope stabilization and other soil‑related activities to ensure compliance with the DBF contract.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, preferably with postgraduate study in geology or geotechnical engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years cumulative experience in civil/geotechnical engineering or geology, including at least 10 years on highway road design.
• Experience on at least two similar highway road construction and design projects.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
