Community Development Officer (Level 4)

About the role
World Vision is seeking a Community Development Officer (Level 4) to promote understanding of its Transformational Development approach and to work closely with community stakeholders, especially vulnerable children and families. The role involves building trust, facilitating inclusive participation, and supporting program design and implementation in the field.
Key responsibilities
- Promote community awareness of World Vision’s Transformational Development and respond to inquiries respectfully.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, ensuring inclusive participation of vulnerable groups.
- Conduct community assessments to identify WASH and DRR needs and support program planning.
- Empower local people, especially women, girls, persons with disabilities, and minorities, to participate in decision‑making.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with community leaders, partners, and beneficiaries.
- Gather feedback and complaints, taking appropriate action to improve services.
- Advocate for systemic change and use social accountability mechanisms where appropriate.
Required profile
- Demonstrated respect, patience, fairness, and cultural sensitivity.
- Strong listening skills and ability to understand community priorities and vulnerabilities.
- Commitment to inclusive, participatory approaches.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
