Tax & Audit Subject Matter Expert (Remote Contractor)

About the role

We are looking for a Tax & Audit Subject Matter Expert to work remotely on an hourly contractor basis. You will review AI‑generated tax and audit responses, create high‑quality accounting content, and provide detailed feedback to improve model performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training content, including detailed prompts and gold‑standard outputs for tax scenarios, audit programs, workpaper examples, and technical explanations.
• Evaluate and rank AI responses to enhance technical correctness, clarity, compliance alignment, and practical usefulness.
• Test AI outputs for inaccuracies, unsafe or non‑compliant guidance, and bias, ensuring reliability across business scenarios.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field; CPA/ACCA/EA/CIA or local equivalent is a strong plus.
• 5+ years of professional experience in tax and/or audit (public accounting, advisory, internal audit, or industry).
• Strong command of tax fundamentals (corporate/individual, credits, nexus, VAT/GST, withholding) and audit fundamentals (planning, risk assessment, control testing, substantive procedures).
• Proven ability to prepare clear, defensible workpapers and documentation.
• Solid understanding of internal controls and familiarity with SOX concepts.
• Exceptional attention to detail when fact‑checking and identifying unsupported conclusions.
• Reliable, self‑directed and able to deliver consistent quality in a remote, hourly workflow.
• Prior experience with AI data training, audit QA, tax technical writing or policy interpretation is strongly preferred.
