Sales Manager – FMCG – Dili, Timor-Leste

About the role

The Sales Manager will lead the on‑site sales function for a consumer‑focused FMCG business in Dili, driving market expansion, revenue growth and strong customer relationships. This role combines strategic planning, team leadership and hands‑on prospecting in a dynamic retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue and growth targets.
• Manage and grow relationships with the existing customer base using the Flexnote ERP system.
• Identify, approach and convert new cold prospects to expand distribution across retail outlets.
• Conduct daily visits to key customers to promote products and uncover sales opportunities.
• Lead, coach and train the field sales team to improve capability, discipline and performance.
• Set performance expectations, track activity and provide ongoing guidance.
• Monitor performance, forecast results and prepare regular sales reports.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activity and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities.
• Identify operational issues and implement improvements to strengthen sales effectiveness.
• Collaborate with internal departments to align sales activities with business objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience in sales management and customer relationship management.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and generating new business through cold prospecting.
• Strong leadership, people‑development and team‑management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to analyse sales data, market trends and business opportunities.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems (Flexnote ERP).
• Proficiency in CRM platforms.
• Use of sales‑management tools for reporting and forecasting.
