Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer (Freelance – Timor-Leste)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer to provide Break & Fix support on an on‑call freelance basis in Timor‑Leste. The role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, network and virtualization incidents while delivering high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote Break & Fix support for networking and infrastructure incidents.
• Deploy, configure and manage Nutanix HCI environments (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• Perform system upgrades, patching and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, virtualization and network issues.
• Resolve network connectivity problems (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
• Implement and support backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Respond to critical incidents within agreed response times.
• Collaborate with global and regional teams on infrastructure and cloud projects.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and incident reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure, virtualization, networking or IT support engineering.
• Valid CCNA certification (minimum 90 % on induction assessment).
• Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Ability to work independently in customer‑facing environments.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Nutanix ecosystem (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• Experience with VMware and/or Hyper‑V.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching.
• Backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Scripting with PowerShell and/or Python.
• Optional Nutanix certification (NCP or higher) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
