HR Officer (Generalist) – Dili

About the role

Timor Port S.A., a subsidiary of the AGL Group, is looking for a Generalist HR Officer in Dili. The role supports the delivery of HR services and programmes across the company, providing operational and administrative support in areas such as talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, employee engagement, HR administration and compliance. The contract is permanent and full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Support recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration and employee lifecycle processes.
• Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation and payroll data.
• Assist employees and managers with HR policies, procedures, benefits and employment-related enquiries.
• Coordinate training, performance management, employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, labour regulations and HR governance requirements.
• Prepare HR and payroll reports, maintain HR metrics and support continuous improvement.
• Contribute to HR projects and perform other HR-related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
• Experience in recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, employee relations and HR administration.
• Sound knowledge of labour laws, HR best practices and employment regulations.
• Fluency in English; Tetum is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong administrative, organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and time management.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
