Project Manager (Environmental Monitoring & Sensor Networks)

About the role

We are looking for a results‑driven Project Manager to lead a 2–3 year deployment of a hybrid environmental monitoring network. The role blends strategic remote planning with hands‑on field work in remote or underserved locations, ensuring a high‑density low‑cost sensor (LCS) network is anchored by a regulatory‑grade reference monitor.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full project lifecycle from site scouting to a calibrated, three‑year monitoring operation.
• Manage relationships with regulators, technical vendors, private landowners, and community advocates.
• Coordinate logistics for equipment transport, solar/battery power solutions, and connectivity in low‑infrastructure areas.
• Maintain productivity remotely (budgeting, reporting, data oversight) while leading on‑site installation and maintenance teams.
• Oversee co‑location and calibration of low‑cost sensors against the reference monitor to ensure data defensibility.
• Identify and resolve bottlene‑cks such as permitting delays, hardware failures, or data transmission gaps.

Required profile

• 4+ years of project‑management experience delivering complex technical projects on time and within budget.
• Proven ability to work in remote or rugged environments and troubleshoot hardware and logistics challenges.
• Expert‑level communication skills for managing diverse stakeholder groups.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field.

Required skills

• Knowledge of air‑quality parameters (e.g., PM2.5, NO2).
• Understanding of IoT sensor deployment challenges (power, telemetry, weatherproofing).
• Experience with low‑cost sensor calibration and co‑location techniques.
