FreeCAD Mechanical CAD Expert & AI Trainer

About the role

SME Careers is looking for a seasoned FreeCAD and mechanical CAD professional to help train AI agents. This remote, hourly contract position involves creating realistic CAD challenges and recording expert workflows so AI models can learn and be evaluated.

Key responsibilities

• Design production‑realistic CAD tasks that reflect genuine engineering assignments.
• Record step‑by‑step execution of each task on your own computer using provided screen‑capture tools.
• Document task objectives, verification criteria, and intermediate checkpoints.
• Provide before‑and‑after CAD files, drawings, and any supporting spreadsheets.
• Ensure recordings capture interface states, action sequences, and model history for AI training.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience with FreeCAD and parametric mechanical design.
• Ability to write clear, concise task briefs and verification steps.
• Strong attention to detail in modeling, constraints, and feature ordering.
• Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
