Operations Associate (6‑month contract) – Dili, Timor‑Leste

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Operations Associate to support its Timor‑Leste office for a six‑month fixed‑term contract. Working under the Deputy Representative of Operations, the incumbent will ensure smooth administrative, financial and procurement processes, contributing to the delivery of programmes that improve children’s lives.

Key responsibilities

• Process travel requests and coordinate logistics for staff movements.
• Handle invoice processing, verify documentation and support financial control activities.
• Assist with budgeting, expense monitoring and financial reporting.
• Provide administrative support for events, conferences and meetings.
• Maintain general office administration and act as liaison with the UNICEF Timor‑Leste Country Office and satellite offices.

Required profile

• Secondary education in business administration, accounting, finance, public administration, logistics or related fields.
• Minimum six years of experience in administration, finance or procurement, preferably in country‑level development or humanitarian settings.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language or local language is an asset.
