Remote Data Scientist – AI Content Review (Hourly Contractor)

About the role

SME Careers is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to work remotely on an hourly‑paid contract. You will review AI‑generated analytical reasoning, code, and model outputs, create high‑quality reference solutions, and provide clear step‑by‑step explanations for complex data problems.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve model accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance.
• Review AI‑generated analytical content, identify methodological or statistical errors, and fact‑check quantitative claims.
• Develop detailed prompts and reference solutions that guide AI learning across diverse topics.
• Write clear, reproducible explanations and model solutions that demonstrate correct methods.
• Test AI models for potential biases or inaccuracies and ensure reliability across use cases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a closely related analytical role.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis and machine learning.
• Solid background in statistics, experimental design, and applied probability.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
• Minimum C1 English proficiency (written and spoken) with the ability to produce clear quantitative explanations.
• Detail‑oriented, systematic, and focused on quality and reproducibility.
