Quality Engineering Technician – Associate

About the role

This position supports the establishment and operationalisation of a critical air‑quality monitoring system in Timor‑Leste. You will work on‑site with advanced sensor technologies, integrate data streams and help build local capacity to improve public‑health resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess and secure co‑location sites for sensor deployment in Dili, Baucau, Manatuto and other municipalities.
• Deploy and maintain air‑quality sensors, ensuring functionality and reliability.
• Integrate sensor data into central databases and support data‑analysis workflows.
• Maintain geospatial records and maps of sensor locations.
• Prepare technical and progress reports for the Project Management Unit, UNEP and other partners.
• Coordinate with local authorities, contractors, consultants and end‑users to obtain permissions and ensure smooth implementation.
• Deliver training and capacity‑building sessions for local stakeholders.

Required profile

• Technical expertise in environmental monitoring systems.
• Experience conducting field assessments and site selection.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government agencies, NGOs and international partners.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills.
