Project Manager (Environmental Monitoring & Sensor Networks)

About the role

We are looking for a results‑driven Project Manager to lead a 2–3 year deployment of a hybrid environmental monitoring network. The role blends strategic remote planning with hands‑on field work in remote or underserved locations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full project lifecycle from site scouting to a calibrated, operational three‑year monitoring system.
• Manage relationships with regulators, vendors, private landowners, and community groups.
• Coordinate logistics for equipment transport, power solutions (solar/battery), and connectivity in low‑infrastructure areas.
• Balance remote budgeting, reporting, and data oversight with on‑site team leadership for installations and maintenance.
• Oversee co‑location of low‑cost sensors with a reference monitor to ensure data defensibility.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks such as permitting delays, hardware failures, or data transmission gaps.

Required profile

• 4+ years of project management experience delivering complex technical projects on time and within budget.
• Proven ability to work in remote or rugged environments and troubleshoot hardware and logistics challenges.
• Excellent communication skills for managing diverse stakeholder groups.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field.

Required skills

• Knowledge of air‑quality parameters such as PM2.5 and NO2.
• Experience with IoT deployment challenges including power, telemetry, and weatherproofing.
• Technical fluency in low‑cost sensor calibration and data quality control.
