Monitoring Reporting and Communication Officer

About the role

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Timor‑Leste is seeking a Monitoring, Reporting and Communication Officer to support its Climate Change and Environment Programme. The officer will ensure high‑quality reporting, effective knowledge management and strong stakeholder engagement for climate and environmental projects.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of project activities, including procurement assistance and compliance with UNDP standards.
• Develop monitoring plans, draft progress reports for UNDP, government and donors, and track project results.
• Produce knowledge products such as case studies, briefs, reports and social‑media content to increase project visibility.
• Research and map potential partners and donors, and assist in preparing proposals for funds like GCF, GEF and the Adaptation Fund.
• Collaborate with programme, operations and external stakeholders, documenting decisions and follow‑up actions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Climate Change, Environment, Natural Resources Management, Biodiversity or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in project management, monitoring & reporting, communication or knowledge management, preferably in climate or environmental projects.
• Fluent English (required); basic Indonesian, Portuguese or Tetum are desirable.
