Malay Language Expert – Remote Contractor

About the role

We are looking for a native‑level Malay (Bahasa Melayu) Language Expert to join our remote contractor pool. You will work on AI‑generated content, providing high‑quality feedback, rewrites, and evaluations that help improve large language models.

Key responsibilities

• Create prompts and gold‑standard Malay answers across diverse domains such as general knowledge, customer support, education, and conversational writing.
• Evaluate AI‑generated Malay outputs for accuracy, fluency, grammar, tone, cultural appropriateness, and logical consistency.
• Rank and compare multiple AI responses, write detailed feedback in English, and produce model answers that illustrate best practices.
• Detect unsafe, misleading, or biased content, fact‑check claims when needed, and ensure overall model integrity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Linguistics, Malay/English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in Malay (reading and writing) and strong professional English (minimum C1).
• At least 3 years of professional experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or similar language‑focused work.
• Deep knowledge of Malay grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, and regional variations (Malaysia, Brunei, diaspora, etc.).
• High attention to detail, self‑directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote workflow.
