Junior Accountant – International Infrastructure Project

About the role

Pinnacle Accountants & Business Advisors is seeking a Junior Accountant to support a well‑established international company delivering a multi‑year infrastructure project in Timor‑Leste. The role is full‑time, on‑site at the client’s office in Dili, and offers hands‑on experience on a large‑scale engagement with professional training and supervision from a CPA‑led firm.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records, supporting documents and bookkeeping entries.
• Record financial transactions and update the general ledger.
• Prepare bank, supplier, customer and other account reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Prepare internal financial reports, schedules and supporting analyses.
• Assist with payroll processing and related calculations.
• Support monthly tax and social security calculations, documentation and reporting.
• Help prepare annual financial statements.
• Support audits and internal reviews by gathering documents, verifying information and preparing working papers.
• Respond to accounting‑related inquiries from the client and stakeholders.
• Liaise with Pinnacle for technical review, guidance and quality control.
• Assist in implementing accounting policies, procedures and best practices.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as required.

Required profile

• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Sound understanding of basic accounting principles, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
• Some practical experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll or tax; fresh graduates with strong fundamentals are encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of Timor‑Leste tax, payroll and social security requirements is an advantage.
