International Intern – Digital Transformation Assistant & Coordination

About the role

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking an International Intern to support the Dalan Digital Project within its Democratic Governance portfolio in Timor‑Leste. The intern will assist in advancing digital transformation initiatives that strengthen governance, legislative frameworks and inclusive public service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and analysis of digital governance policies, including cybersecurity, data protection and digital services regulations.
• Assist in drafting legislative and regulatory documents and preparing briefing notes for national and local authorities.
• Conduct research, data collection and monitoring of project activities related to digital infrastructure and service delivery.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement with government agencies, civil society and private sector partners.
• Prepare reports, presentations and communication materials that summarize project progress and impact.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a university program or recent graduate in public policy, law, information technology, international development or a related field.
• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills in English.
• Interest in digital transformation, governance and inclusive service delivery.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to Timor‑Leste’s context.
