Finance Associate (G-7) – Dili, Timor-Leste

About the role

The Finance Associate supports the International Operations Manager in managing and overseeing financial resources for UNFPA’s Country Office in Dili. This position ensures compliance with UNFPA financial rules, IPSAS standards, and internal policies while promoting efficiency, transparency, and strong internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Process and review financial transactions across all funding streams.
• Monitor financial workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and propose enhancements.
• Ensure accurate utilization of the Quantum ERP system and adherence to corporate financial policies.
• Prepare financial information and reports to support programme decision‑making.
• Maintain compliance with UNFPA financial regulations, IPSAS standards, and internal control requirements.

Required profile

• National of Timor‑Leste.
• Solid understanding of UNFPA financial rules, regulations and IPSAS standards.
• Experience with financial transaction processing and reporting.
• Ability to work under the guidance of the International Operations Manager and collaborate with programme teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Quantum ERP system.
