Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join a major highway infrastructure project in Timor‑Leste. The role will lead all environmental, occupational health and safety aspects, ensuring compliance with local regulations, international standards, donor requirements and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee review of environmental studies, impact assessments, mitigation measures and overall EHS compliance in line with environmental laws, DBF contract and technical specifications.
• Provide dedicated services during construction to manage environmental, safety and health issues, ensuring conformity with approved designs and contractual requirements.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, science or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years experience in environmental impact assessment, monitoring and advisory roles, including at least two highway road projects.
• Sound knowledge of environmental and social issues, mitigation measures for infrastructure projects.
• At least 3 years experience working in developing countries.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
