Scala Engineer – Remote Contractor (Hourly)

About the role

As a Scala Engineer you will work remotely on an hourly‑paid basis, reviewing AI‑generated Scala code, system designs and technical explanations. You will produce high‑quality reference implementations, step‑by‑step reasoning and model solutions that help improve AI training data for leading AI models.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed prompts across Scala/JVM topics and write reference answers to guide AI learning.
• Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve correctness, safety, performance and contextual relevance.
• Test AI outputs for inaccuracies, unsafe patterns and bias, validating reliability in real‑world use cases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience building production systems with Scala.
• Deep knowledge of Scala 2.13+ and/or Scala 3, including type system, implicits/givens and functional patterns.
• Strong JVM fundamentals, concurrency, and experience with effect systems (cats‑effect, ZIO) or actor frameworks (Akka/Pekko).
• Experience designing distributed services, micro‑services, messaging/streaming, and implementing robust testing practices.
