Fintech & Crypto Subject Matter Expert (Remote Contractor)

About the role

This hourly, remote contractor position is with SME Careers, a subsidiary of SuperAnnotate. You will act as a Fintech / Crypto Subject Matter Expert (SME) reviewing AI‑generated fintech, payments, and crypto/Web3 responses, as well as creating expert content. The focus is on evaluating reasoning quality, accuracy, safety, and compliance while providing precise written feedback.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training content by creating detailed prompts and gold‑standard fintech/crypto outputs such as explanations, scenario analyses, risk write‑ups, and user guidance.
• Optimize AI performance by evaluating and ranking AI responses to improve correctness, clarity, safety, and practical usefulness.
• Ensure model integrity by testing AI outputs for inaccuracies, misleading certainty, unsafe financial guidance, bias, and validating reliability across use cases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in fintech, payments, banking, crypto, or adjacent domains (product, operations, risk, compliance, research, engineering, or consulting).
• Strong understanding of payments and money movement, including authorization, settlement, chargebacks, fees, and major rails (card networks, ACH, wires).
• Deep knowledge of crypto/blockchain fundamentals such as transaction lifecycle, consensus mechanisms, on‑chain vs off‑chain processing, and token mechanics.
• Solid risk mindset covering fraud vectors, account takeover, social engineering, custody/key‑management risks, and safety‑first user guidance.
