Civil Engineer – AI Model Evaluation

About the role

We are seeking a civil engineer who enjoys technical precision and problem‑solving to help improve AI systems that explain complex engineering concepts. In this role you will evaluate and refine advanced language models on civil‑engineering topics, ensuring their outputs are accurate, safe, and professionally sound.

Key responsibilities

• Assess AI‑generated responses for technical accuracy, logical soundness, completeness, and clarity across a wide range of civil‑engineering subjects.
• Challenge language models with realistic design scenarios, calculations, code‑informed reasoning tasks, and construction sequencing problems.
• Provide structured feedback identifying factual errors, flawed assumptions, missing constraints, unsafe recommendations, or incomplete reasoning.
• Review and refine prompts, model explanations, and step‑by‑step engineering solutions to improve model performance.
• Help define communication standards for AI‑generated civil‑engineering content, emphasizing assumptions, limitations, calculations, and professional judgment.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional civil‑engineering experience with hands‑on work in infrastructure design, structural analysis, geotechnical, transportation, water resources, environmental, or construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s, PhD, PE licensure or equivalent advanced credentials strongly preferred).
• Previous experience with AI data training, annotation, or evaluating AI‑generated technical content is a strong plus.
