Senior Java Engineer – AI Code Review (Remote)

About the role

SME Careers is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to work remotely on an hourly‑paid contract. You will evaluate AI‑generated Java code, architectural solutions, and technical explanations, providing high‑quality reference implementations and detailed reasoning.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess AI‑generated Java code for correctness, performance, and design quality.
• Generate clear, accurate reference implementations and step‑by‑step explanations.
• Rate and compare multiple AI responses, highlighting strengths and weaknesses.
• Identify logical errors, bias, or inaccuracies in AI outputs and suggest improvements.
• Contribute to AI training content by creating prompts and evaluating model responses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional Java development experience on production systems.
• Strong command of English (minimum C1) for writing technical explanations.
• Experience conducting thorough code reviews and providing constructive feedback.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with a systematic approach to evaluating reasoning quality.
