Scala Engineer – Remote AI Code Reviewer

About the role

As a Scala Engineer you will work remotely on an hourly‑paid basis reviewing AI‑generated Scala code, system designs and technical explanations. You will produce high‑quality reference implementations, step‑by‑step reasoning and assess solutions for correctness, safety, performance and adherence to prompts.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed prompts and reference answers on Scala/JVM topics to train AI models.
• Evaluate, rank and improve AI responses to enhance correctness, safety and performance.
• Test AI outputs for inaccuracies, unsafe patterns and bias, and validate reliability in real‑world use cases.
• Identify and report errors in concurrency, distributed systems behavior, JVM performance and resource handling.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience building production systems with Scala.
• Expert‑level proficiency in Scala 2.13+ and/or Scala 3, strong understanding of the type system and functional patterns.
• Deep knowledge of JVM fundamentals, memory model, garbage collection and performance tuning.
• Extensive experience with concurrency/effect systems (cats‑effect, ZIO) or actor‑based frameworks (Akka, Pekko) and distributed micro‑service architectures.
• Proficient in testing frameworks (ScalaTest, MUnit, ScalaCheck) and CI/CD workflows.
• Fluent English (C1) with excellent written communication skills.
