Remote C++ Engineer – AI Code Review Contractor

About the role

SME Careers is seeking a remote C++ Engineer to work on an hourly‑paid contractor basis. You will evaluate AI‑generated C++ code, system designs, and technical explanations, producing high‑quality reference implementations and detailed reasoning for complex engineering problems.

Key responsibilities

• Review and critique AI‑generated C++ code, identifying logic, memory, concurrency, and performance issues.
• Generate accurate reference implementations and step‑by‑step explanations.
• Assess AI responses for correctness, clarity, safety, and adherence to prompts.
• Rank and compare multiple AI outputs to improve model accuracy.
• Create detailed prompts and responses to enrich AI training data.
• Test AI models for biases and inaccuracies, ensuring reliability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience developing production C++ software for performance‑critical or large‑scale systems.
• Expert‑level proficiency in modern C++ (C++11 and later).
• Strong background in systems programming, concurrency, OS concepts, and low‑level performance optimization.
• Excellent written English (C1) for clear technical documentation.

• Concurrency and multithreading.
