National Director – Timor Leste

About the role

The National Director leads World Vision Timor‑Leste, overseeing program quality, strategic direction, and accountability to communities and donors. Reporting to regional leadership, the role represents World Vision at the highest levels of government, development partners, civil society, and the media.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and adaptive leadership to improve child well‑being across Timor‑Leste.
• Ensure integration and collaboration with partners, support offices, and the South Asia Pacific Regional Office.
• Develop Ministry Objectives that contribute to prioritized Child Results in a grant‑funded environment.
• Build strong partnerships with government and civil society to strengthen health, disaster management, climate change, and social development systems.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, standards, and donor requirements.
• Lead resource development efforts, cultivating relationships to secure diverse funding.
• Promote robust financial management and grant compliance.
• Provide positive people and culture leadership, including emergency response preparation.

Required profile

• 10+ years of senior management experience, preferably in global non‑profit or international settings.
• Demonstrated experience in Asia and deep understanding of Timor‑Leste’s political, social, religious, and economic context.
• Master’s‑level degree in international development, business administration, public health, social science, management or related field.
• Proven track record securing grant funding and managing multi‑million‑dollar budgets.
• Strong leadership, partnership building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
