Android Engineer (Kotlin & Java) – Remote Contractor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Android Engineer (Kotlin & Java) to work remotely on an hourly‑paid contract. You will review AI‑generated Android code, create high‑quality reference implementations, and produce detailed explanations that help improve AI models used by developers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training content by writing detailed prompts and reference answers on Android topics.
• Evaluate and rank AI‑generated responses for correctness, security, performance and maintainability.
• Review and refactor AI‑generated code, covering Jetpack Compose, concurrency, threading, memory, app lifecycle, networking, persistence and build practices.
• Fact‑check technical information and ensure model outputs are safe and reliable.
• Write step‑by‑step reasoning and best‑practice explanations for complex engineering problems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience building production Android applications.
• Deep expertise in Kotlin (1.6+) and solid knowledge of Java.
• Strong understanding of Android fundamentals, app lifecycle, permissions and background execution limits.
• Experience with modern UI frameworks such as Jetpack Compose and traditional Views.
• Proficiency in concurrency using coroutines, Flow and threading best practices.
• Familiarity with MVVM, Clean Architecture, and dependency injection (Hilt, Dagger, Koin).
• Hands‑on experience with networking (Retrofit, OkHttp), data persistence (Room, SQLite, DataStore) and testing frameworks.
