Operations Manager

About the role

Conservation International is seeking a collaborative and strategic Operations Manager to lead financial, human‑resources and administrative functions for its program in Timor‑Leste. Reporting to the Senior Director for Operations, Asia, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, donor compliance, and efficient operational processes that support the organization’s conservation mission.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee program budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis; develop financial models for strategic planning and fundraising.
• Manage grant and donor compliance, including budgeting, reporting, sub‑grants and subcontract administration.
• Lead annual and ad‑hoc budgeting cycles and monitor the operations budget for emerging financial issues.
• Coordinate audits, implement audit recommendations, and ensure compliance with internal policies and local regulations.
• Support HR functions, capacity‑building initiatives, and people‑management efforts to maintain a high‑performing team.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance productivity and operational capacity.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial management, budgeting and donor compliance within an international or non‑profit environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce accurate financial reports and forecasts.
• Excellent collaboration skills, able to work closely with program leadership and global teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage audits, implement recommendations and ensure regulatory compliance.
