Asset Management and GIS Specialist

About the role

The Asset Management and GIS Specialist will develop a manual to register water supply and sanitation (WS&S) assets, update customer connection data and integrate it into the GIS platform. The role involves establishing a generic naming convention in consultation with BTL and supervising BTL EP personnel and local consultants to ensure accurate asset registration and data updates.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a manual for registering WS&S assets and updating customer connection data.
• Incorporate asset and connection data into the GIS system using a standardized naming convention.
• Supervise BTL EP staff and local consultants to register new assets and maintain data quality.
• Coordinate with BTL to ensure alignment on naming conventions and data standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in computer science, geography, geodetic engineering or a related field.
• At least 13 years of professional experience applying asset management and GIS software in water utility companies.
• Completed a minimum of five urban water and sanitation projects in a similar role.
• Minimum six years of experience working in the Asia‑Pacific region; experience in Timor‑Leste is an advantage.
